BODY STRUCTURE

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body

      1. High-strength steel, ultra high-tensile strength steel, hot-stamped steel and aluminum are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.

    2. Safety Features

      1. The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.

      2. A pop up hood is adopted in consideration of reducing pedestrian injuries due to impact against the engine hood panel in the event of a collision. The adoption of the pop up hood ensures a sporty form and pedestrian protection.

    3. Rust-resistant Body

      1. Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel and aluminum as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax and sealer to easily corroded parts such as the edge of the door lower portion, the door hinge, the fuel filler lid hinge, and the hemmed portions of the hood panel.

    4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

      1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

    5. Aerodynamics

      1. Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.

  2. MAIN FEATURES

    1. Exterior Design

      1. Front View (Front Grille)

Evolution of the unique IS spindle grille

        1. The color expresses the panel shape that extends from the hood relief. (*a)

        2. By lifting the split between the bottom and top of the grille and by tightening the top (*b) and widening (*c) the stance, the sporty impression is emphasized.

        3. By changing the side bar (*d) and adjusting the ends of the grille, the shape has been emphasized.

        4. Functionality is expressed by the brake ducts of the lower edges (*e) which guide the air.

      2. Front View (Headlight)

        1. The headlights with their characteristic shape which extends outward from the center along with the daytime running lights enhance the continuity and provide a sharp expression.

        2. All LED type 3 unit low beams illuminate to form an L shape, providing a next generation look with a further emphasis on evolution.

      4. Rear View (Rear Combination Light)

Evolution and intensification of the L shape

        1. The internal arrangement of the turn signal light expresses a wide construction.

        2. By using bold lines to create a feeling of a tensioned L shaped rear configuration, a wide stance is emphasized. (*a)

        3. By stacking 3 L shaped layers, a feeling of depth is expressed. (*b)

      6. F SPORT

The mesh grille inherited from the "F" intensifies the feeling of movement

        1. By utilizing a jet black plated "F" letter mesh grille, "F" DNA is inherited.

        2. The brake ducts within the grille and the corresponding side garnish (*b) have been changed to provide sporty functionality (aerodynamics).
