  1. FUNCTION


    1. Bluetooth is a short-distance, high-speed wireless data communication system that uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band prescribed by the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group).

    2. This system enables drivers to place or receive phone calls without operating a cellular phone.

    3. The Bluetooth hands-free system is included in the audio head unit.

    4. The major hands-free functions are shown in the following table:

    5. The hands-free functions of the Lexus display audio system are shown in the following table. However, for safety, some functions may not be selectable when the vehicle is being driven.

      Transferring a telephone number:

      The user can transfer telephone numbers from a Bluetooth phone to the system. Up to 2500 items (up to 4 numbers and 4 e-mail addresses*2 per entry) can be registered in the contact list.

      Automatically transferring a telephone number:

      When a PBAP compatible phone is connected, the phonebook data of the phone can be automatically transferred.

      Registering phone numbers:

      The user can register phone numbers in the contact list.*3

      Adding data to the contact list:

      The user can add data to the contact list.*3

      Editing data:

      The user can edit the registered data.*3

      Deleting data:

      The user can delete the data.*3

      Screen Settings

      Receiving call display:

      The user can select the receiving call display.

      Contact data and call history data transfer condition:

      The user can select whether a message is displayed or not while transferring contact data and call history data.

      The Bluetooth connection status at startup:

      When the engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG) and a Bluetooth phone is automatically connected, the connection check will be displayed.

      Initializing the settings:

      The user can initialize the settings.

      Registering and Selecting a Bluetooth Phone Bluetooth Phone Registration In order to use the hands-free function of a Bluetooth phone, it is necessary to register it in the audio head unit. Once a Bluetooth phone is registered, it connects automatically. The user can register up to 5 Bluetooth phones.*4
      Bluetooth Phone Selection*1 When 2 or more registered Bluetooth phones are in the cabin, it is necessary to select which phone to use. Only the selected phone is available for use as a hands-free phone. The phone registered last is automatically selected.
      Bluetooth Information Confirmation and Editing The user can set, change and initialize the information of the Bluetooth phone displayed on the screen.
      Deleting a Bluetooth Phone The user can delete a registered Bluetooth phone from the audio head unit.
      Bluetooth Phone Message*2 Checking Message

      Transmits the messages (Short Message Service (SMS)/Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)/email) received on the Bluetooth phone to the audio head unit.

      The following functions are available for the transmitted messages.


      • Display of a message text.

      • Reading out of a message.*1

      • Calling a Short Message Service (SMS)/Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message sender's phone number.*1

      Reply Message*1 Replies to a message (Short Message Service (SMS)/Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)/email) received on the Bluetooth phone.
      Editing Reply Message Edits the reply.
      Displaying Mail List*1 Displays the list of received messages (Short Message Service (SMS)/Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)/e-mail). However, the number of received messages in the list that the user can view is limited while driving.

    6. The hands-free functions of the 10-speaker surround sound system, 15-speaker surround sound system and navigation system are shown in the following table. However, for safety, some functions may not be selectable when the vehicle is being driven.

      If more than 15*4/10*5 calls have been missed, the oldest number will be overwritten by the new number.

      All Call History

      The user can make a call by selecting a telephone number from the entire call history.

      However, the number of telephone numbers in the call history that the user can use is limited while driving.

      Calling with a Bluetooth Phone By Favorites*1 The user can make a call by using a registered contact selected from the contact list, dialed numbers or received calls.
      By Quick dial*1*6*7 If any contacts are registered to the quick dial list, the user can make a call by selecting a quick dial contact on the quick dial screen on the side screen.
      By Voice Recognition (Dialing by Name)*1*8 The user can make a call by saying a name registered in the contact list.
      By Voice Recognition (Dialing by Phone Number)*1*9 The user can make a call by saying a desired number.
      By Voice Recognition (Dialing by Voice Tag)*1*10 The user can make a call by saying a registered voice tag.
      112 Emergency Call Support*1*4 The user can make a call the 112 emergency call service by operating a switch displayed on the dial pad screen.
      By Point of Interest (POI)*7 The user can make a call by operating a switch when "Call" is displayed on the navigation screen.
