OUTLINE
The AA81E 8-speed automatic transmission [8-speed Sport Direct Shift] is used on 2WD models with the 2GR-FKS or 8AR-FTS engine.
A gate type shift lever is used.
A multi-mode automatic transmission with shift paddle switch (transmission shift switch assembly) is used.
A combination switch assembly (drive mode select and SNOW switch*1) which can be used to select the drive modes (ECO, NORMAL, SPORT*2, SPORT S*3, SPORT S+*3, CUSTOMIZE*3 or SNOW*1) is provided.
An ATF warmer (transmission oil cooler) is used in the ATF cooling system.
An oil pump with solenoid assembly is provided to ensure adequate ATF pressure when the stop and start system is operating.*4 For details, see IDLING STOP CONTROL.
