  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. An aluminum die cast chain cover is used, and has a structure that seals the front portions of the cylinder head and cylinder block together.

    2. The oil pump and water pump are integrated in the timing chain cover.

    3. The reinforcement ribs are optimally positioned on the front and back sides to reduce weight and suppress vibrations and noise, while still reducing thickness.

    4. A service hole for the chain tensioner is provided on the timing chain cover to improve maintenance serviceability.

    5. A structure is used that allows a solenoid for VVT-iW and VVT-i control to be installed on the timing chain cover sub-assembly, improving both fuel economy and serviceability.
