ENGINE UNIT

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. The structure of the oil pan is divided into 2 parts, using aluminum alloy for the No. 1 oil pan and press-formed steel plates for the No. 2 oil pan. The No. 1 oil pan is integrated with a stiffener and combined together with the cylinder block and transmission case, increasing overall rigidity. This reduces the amount of noise and vibration transmitted to the interior of the vehicle and allows for reduced weight.

    2. The shape of the reinforcement rib has been optimized and weight reduction has been achieved while maintaining low vibration levels.

    3. A structure in which the oil filter is installed directly to the No. 1 oil pan is used, allowing the bracket and seal structure to be discarded, thereby reducing weight and improving reliability.

    4. A baffle plate is provided in the upper portion of the No. 1 oil pan to suppress oil agitation, reducing friction and improving fuel economy.

    5. A protruding shape is provided on the bottom of the drain bolt installation area to improve serviceability by reducing the area in which engine oil sprays when draining the engine oil.
