  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. An aluminum die-cast timing chain cover assembly is used.

    2. The timing chain cover assembly has an integrated construction consisting of an oil pump and a timing chain oil jet. Thus, the number of parts has been reduced, resulting in a weight reduction. The timing chain oil jet lubricates the timing chain. Also, a service hole cover for the No. 1 chain tensioner assembly is installed to improve maintenance serviceability.

    3. The timing chain cover assembly has a structure which allows the installation of a cam timing oil control solenoid assembly for VVT-iW control.

    4. The timing chain cover assembly is installed with the reinforced ribs on the backside facing downward to achieve quietness and an improvement in engine oil return.

    5. The reinforced ribs have been optimally placed while the thickness of the timing chain cover assembly has been reduced to achieve weight reduction and quietness.
