  1. OUTLINE


    1. Combination Meter Assembly


      1. An analog type combination meter assembly or an optitron type combination meter assembly is provided depending on the model.

      2. An optitron type realizes excellent visibility through the use of a smoked acrylic protective panel and bright Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that use high contrast to illuminate the indicators and dials.

      3. A color type multi-information display is provided as optional equipment for the optitron type combination meter assembly.

      4. All the meters, gauges, indicator lights and warning lights use LEDs to reduce the consumption of electrical energy.

      5. The combination meter assembly has a built-in meter ECU and buzzer.

      6. A hybrid system indicator is provided. The indicator makes it possible to confirm the system output and regenerative condition of the hybrid system.

      7. A tachometer is provided on the optitron type combination meter assembly. When SPORT mode is selected, the tachometer is displayed instead of the hybrid system indicator.

      8. An optitron type combination meter assembly has a function that changes the illumination color of itself in accordance with the selected driving mode and vehicle driving conditions.

      9. A dot Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is used for the multi-information display in the analog type combination meter assembly and optitron type combination meter assembly with monochrome type multi-information display.

      10. A Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT LCD) is used for the multi-information display in the optitron type combination meter assembly with color type multi-information display.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE


    1. The new models have been modified from the previous models as shown below:


      1. Hybrid battery cooling system related warning messages have been added to the warning messages displayed on the multi-information display.

  3. MAIN FEATURES


    1. Combination Meter Assembly


      1. Illumination control, which allows for anticipation of a pleasant drive, is used. If the power switch is turned on (IG), the illumination control operates as follows:


        1. When the hybrid system is started, the speedometer, hybrid system indicator and fuel gauge* needles illuminate.

        2. Next, the meter panel illumination, speedometer dial, hybrid system indicator dial, shift indicator and multi-information display fade in to welcome the driver. If the illumination color change function of the combination meter assembly is enabled, these illuminations flash when fading in.

        3. When the power switch is turned off, the speedometer dial, hybrid system indicator dial, fuel gauge* and shift indicator go off. Next, the speedometer, hybrid system indicator and fuel gauge* needles turn off.

        4. Finally, the multi-information display turns off.

      2. On the Optitron type combination meter assembly, the illumination color of the meter panel and the display of the hybrid system indicator or tachometer will be changed when the drive mode is changed using the mode select switch. These items can be customized to suit the driver's preference.

    2. Hybrid System Indicator


      1. The hybrid system indicator displays the total of the HV battery and engine output as the hybrid system output.

      2. The scale for the hybrid system indicator is divided into 3 areas (CHARGE, ECO, POWER). The role of each area is as follows.

        Area Function
        CHARGE The CHARGE area indicates when energy regeneration is occurring.
        ECO

        • The ECO area indicates when the vehicle is being driven eco-friendly.

        • The hybrid ECO area indicates that the vehicle is driven in a manner that promotes frequent motor only operation. (Based on various conditions, the power management ECU controls if the engine should be stopped to enhance fuel efficiency.)
        POWER The POWER area indicates that the eco-friendly driving range is being exceeded (during full power driving, etc.).

      3. When the needle of the hybrid system indicator is in the CHARGE area or ECO area, the upper area of meter panel illuminates in blue to inform the driver that the vehicle is being driven in an eco-friendly manner.

    3. Multi-information Display


      1. The following information is displayed on the multi-information display:

        Models with Monochrome Type Multi-information Display
        Item Outline
        Outside Temperature The outside temperature is displayed.
        ODO/TRIP Meter

        • The odometer, trip meter A or trip meter B are displayed.

        • The item shown can be switched by pressing the ODO/TRIP switch knob.
        Dynamic Radar Cruise Control*1 The multi-information display displays the set vehicle speed and vehicle ahead mark.
        Cruise Information

        • The item shown can be changed by pushing the DISP switch of the steering pad switch assembly.

        • In cruise information mode, the following information can be displayed:


          • Energy Monitor

          • Current Fuel Consumption and Average Fuel Consumption After Refueling

          • Average Fuel Consumption

          • Cruising Range

          • Elapsed Time

          • Average Vehicle Speed

          • Settings

          • Blank
        Warning The warning display will interrupt the current display on the multi-information display immediately when a warning is necessary.

        Outside Temperature The outside temperature is displayed.
        Fuel Level Gauge The fuel level is displayed using 10 segments.
        Indicator Light When the display conditions are met, the EV mode indicator light illuminates.

          • Total Average Fuel Consumption between Reset Operations

          • Average Fuel Consumption after Hybrid System Start-up

          • Average Fuel Consumption after Refueling

          • Total Average Vehicle Speed between Reset Operations

          • Average Vehicle Speed after Hybrid System Start-up

          • Total Elapsed Time between Reset Operations

          • Elapsed Time after Hybrid System Start-up

          • Cruising Range

          • Cruising Range after Hybrid System Start-up


        • In addition to the above functions, the following items can be displayed.

        Tech Tips

        The item shown can be changed using the UP/DOWN switch of the steering pad switch assembly.
        Navigation Information When the navigation information tab is being displayed, current navigation information (turn-by-turn, straight guidance or direction meter) will be displayed.
        Audio Information When the audio information tab is being displayed, the audio system can be operated using the steering pad switch assembly.
        ODO/TRIP Meter

        • Displays the odometer, trip meter A or trip meter B.

        • The item shown can be changed by pressing the ODO/TRIP switch knob.
