COOLING SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The cooling system uses a pressurized forced circulation system with pressurized reservoir tank assembly.

    2. An electric engine water pump assembly is used to reduce friction losses and weight.

    3. A thermostat is located on the water inlet housing to maintain suitable temperature distribution in the cooling system.

    4. Warm water from the cylinder head sub-assembly is sent to the throttle body to prevent throttle body icing (ice buildup), and at the same time is also sent to the EGR cooler*1 to cool down the EGR gas.

    5. An exhaust heat recirculation system*2 that collects exhaust heat from the exhaust system has been provided.

    6. An aluminum radiator core is used for weight reduction.

    7. TOYOTA genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) is used.

    1. Engine Coolant


      1. TOYOTA genuine SLLC is used. The maintenance interval is as shown in the table below:

        Tech Tips

        *: Similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology. (Coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology is a combination of low phosphates and organic acids.)

      2. SLLC is pre-mixed (50 % coolant and 50 % deionized water), so no dilution is needed when adding or replacing SLLC.
