FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The main components in the power door lock control system have the following functions:
| Component | Function | |
|---|---|---|
| Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly | Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU. | |
| Door with Motor Lock Assembly | Door Lock Position Switch | Detects whether the doors are locked or unlocked and sends this information to the main body ECU. |
| Door Lock Motor | Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU and locks or unlocks the doors. | |
| Driver Key-linked Door Lock Switch*1 | Sends a lock or unlock request signal to the main body ECU by the mechanical key*2 or ignition key*3. | |
| Double Lock Motor*4 | Drives the motor by signals from the double lock door control relay assembly and activates or cancels the double locking system. | |
| Double Lock Position Switch*4 | Detects the operating conditions of the double lock motor and sends this information to the double lock door control relay assembly. | |
| Back Door Lock Assembly*5 | Back Door Courtesy Light Switch | Detects whether the back door is open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU. |
| Door Lock Motor | Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU and locks or unlocks the back door. | |
| Manual Door Lock Switch | Sends manual lock and unlock request signals to the main body ECU. | |
| Double Lock Door Control Relay Assembly*4 | Drives the double lock motor by means of the signals from the main body ECU, door lock position switch and so on. | |
| Center Airbag Sensor Assembly | Detects collisions using a built-in deceleration sensor and signals from each airbag sensor, and sends this information to the main body ECU. | |
| Key Unlock Warning Switch*3 | Detects whether or not the ignition key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder and sends this information to the main body ECU. | |
| Combination Meter Assembly | Receives signals from the speed sensor and sends the vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU. | |
| Speed Sensor | Sends wheel speed information to the combination meter via the skid control ECU. | |
| Main Body ECU (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly) |
|
|
| Door Control Battery | Provided to supply power to the door lock control system when the battery is damaged due to a collision. | |

FUNCTION
The power door lock control system has the following functions:
| Function | Outline | Customized Body Electronics System |
|---|---|---|
| Manual Lock and Unlock | This function can lock or unlock all doors by operation of the manual door lock switch. | Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Manual Unlock Prohibition | Performing the door lock operation with a transmitter or a key will prohibit the doors from being unlocked by the door lock control switch. | Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Key-linked Lock and Unlock | This function, linked with the driver door key cylinder, can lock or unlock all the doors when a lock or unlock operation is performed. | Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Key Confine Prevention | When the key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder and the door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked. | Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Double Locking System |
|
Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Collision Door Lock Release | If the SRS airbag system has been deployed, and the main body ECU has detected the signal that is output by the center airbag sensor assembly, the main body ECU unlocks all the doors. | Standard (Not Customizable) |
| Speed Sensitive Automatic Door Lock | After the ignition switch (engine switch*1) has been turned to ON with any of the doors unlocked, this function causes all doors to be automatically locked once the vehicle speed reaches approximately 20 km/h (13 mph) or more. After this function has operated, it will not operate again until either of the following conditions is met:
|
Default Setting is On*3 |
| Opening Driver's Door-linked Automatic Door Unlock | All doors are unlocked automatically when the driver's door is opened within 10 seconds after the ignition switch (engine switch*1) is changed from ON to ACC or off. | Default Setting is On*3 |

CONSTRUCTION
Door Control Battery
The door control battery charges completely within approximately 90 seconds after the ignition switch (engine switch*) is turned to ON. Also, the battery finishes discharging through self-discharge approximately 30 minutes after the ignition switch (engine switch*) is turned off.
The charged door control battery is used as a redundant power supply to supply power to the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly) and door lock/unlock relay in order to enable the collision detection door lock release function to operate, even when the main battery becomes disconnected due to a collision.
Even when the door control battery is not charged (the ignition switch (engine switch*) is off), the door control battery always supplies power to the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly) and door lock/unlock relay.
