OUTLINE
The lubrication circuit is fully pressurized and all oil passes through an oil cooler and an oil filter.
A trochoid oil pump driven by a gear engaged with the crankshaft is used.
A water-cooled type engine oil cooler is enclosed in the cylinder block.
Piston oil jets that lubricate and cool the piston are provided.
On the models compliant with EURO 5+ emission regulations, engine oil pressure control and low viscosity engine oil are used to reduce friction loss and achieve improved fuel efficiency. For details of the oil pressure control system, see the 1KD-FTV Engine Control section.
