OUTLINE
The Controller Area Network (CAN) uses 5 different CAN buses: CAN No. 1 bus, CAN No. 2 bus, power management bus and powertrain bus for high-speed communication (500 kbps) and CAN MS bus for medium-speed communication (250 kbps).
The CAN has 2 terminating resistors which are necessary for accurate judgment of communication on the main bus.
The terminating resistors for each bus are located as shown in the following table.
| Bus | Terminating Resistor Location |
|---|---|
| CAN No. 1 Bus |
|
| CAN No. 2 Bus |
|
| Power Management Bus |
|
| Powertrain Bus |
|
| CAN MS Bus |

The main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) has a gateway function and is used to transmit data between the CAN No. 1 bus and the CAN MS bus.
The power management control ECU has a gateway function and is used to transmit data between the power management bus, CAN No. 1 bus and CAN No. 2 bus.
