When downshifting is attempted while driving at a vehicle speed at which downshifting is impossible, the buzzer sounds twice (approximately 0.25 seconds X 2) as a warning and the downshift is prohibited.
Maintenance Required Reminder Function
A maintenance required reminder message will appear to inform the driver of maintenance requirements.
The combination meter assembly calculates the vehicle driving distance based on the signals from the skid control ECU.
There are 2 types of warnings: one is displayed when the vehicle driving distance is 4500 miles or more since the last time the system was reset, and the other is displayed when the driving distance is 5000 miles or more.
The maintenance required reminder message appears on the multi-information display as follows:
| 4500 miles or more | 5000 miles or more |
|---|---|
| "Oil Maintenance Required Soon" appears for approximately 15 seconds | "Oil Maintenance Required" warning remains on |
After the required maintenance has been performed, the accumulated vehicle driving distance memorized in the combination meter assembly should be reset to zero using the "TRIP" meter reset knob.
Tech Tips
The accumulated vehicle driving distance memorized in the combination meter assembly can be reset using the following procedure.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and make sure that the TRIP A is displayed on its Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).
Turn the ignition to off. While pushing the "TRIP" meter reset knob, turn the ignition switch ON.
With the ignition switch ON, keep holding the "TRIP" meter reset knob (for at least 5 seconds) with the LCD counting down. Release the "TRIP" meter reset knob when the resetting procedure has completed.
As the resetting completes, the multi-information display will display "Resetting Oil Maintenance Data COMPLETE" for 1 second (TFT display) or the odometer will display "000000" for 1 second.
