    1. 1AR-FE Engine


      1. The 1AR-FE engine is an in-line 4-cylinder 2.7-liter, 16-valve DOHC engine. This engine uses a Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS), Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i). These control functions achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy, and clean emissions.

    3. Active Torque Control 4WD System


      1. An active torque control 4WD system with an electromagnetic control coupling is used. The active torque control 4WD system has an electromagnetic control coupling in the front part of the rear differential. The coupling transmits torque to the rear wheels when needed, and only in the amount needed, based on information provided by various sensors.

    5. Steering
