FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The main components in the rear seat heater system have the following functions:
| Component | Outline |
|---|---|
| Seat Heater | Sewn into the internal surfaces of the seat cushion and the seat back, and warms up the seat surfaces using the heat caused by electrical resistance. |
| Rear Climate Control ECU Assembly | Controls the system based on signals from the seat heater sensor and the seat heater switch. |
| Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly | Sends ambient temperature and air conditioning temperature signals to the climate control ECU assembly. |
| Rear Power Seat Switch - Rear Seat Heater Switch LH - Rear Seat Heater Switch RH |
The operation signals of the rear seat heater switch are input into the climate control ECU assembly in order to adjust the seat heater temperature. |
| Seat Heater Sensor | Detects the surface temperature of the seat cushion. |
OPERATING CONDITION
When all of the following conditions are met, the quick seat heater control operates after the power switch is turned on (IG):
| Condition |

When any one of the following conditions is met, the quick seat heater control is canceled and the seat heater system operates normally:
Except when the seat heater system has been set to the manual control using the rear seat heater switch or by automatic control.
When the quick seat heater control reaches the end of its timer*1 sequence.
When the temperature of the seat surface increases to a certain degree as shown in the following table:
| Seat Heater System Control*2 | Temperature of Seat Surface | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manual | Automatic | -5°C (23°F) or Less*3 | Between -4°C (25°F) and 10°C (50°F)*3 | 11°C (52°F) or More*3 |
| Max | Max | 50°C (122°F) | 47°C (113°F) | 40°C (104°F) |
| - | Mid3 | 48°C (118°F) | 43°C (109°F) | 38°C (100°F) |
| Mid | Mid2 | 45°C (113°F) | 40°C (104°F) | 35°C (95°F) |
