BODY STRUCTURE GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body

      1. High strength steel is used to secure safety and achieve a lightweight body.

    2. Safety Features

      1. In order to distribute impact force to the cabin and reduce floor displacement, reinforced panels and the placement of the structure are optimized.

    3. Rust-resistant Body

      1. Rust-resistance performance is enhanced by extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment which includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to easily corroded parts such as the doors and hood panels.

    4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

      1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

    5. Aerodynamics

      1. Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.

  2. MAIN FEATURES

    1. Exterior Design

      1. Front View

        1. The front grille and headlamps have an integrated appearance with extra emphasis in the lateral direction for a greater sense of width. (*a)

        2. An oversized lower grille expresses the under-priority* design concept. (*b)

          Tech Tips

A front design based on the goal of enhancing aerodynamic performance, cooling and pedestrian safety by enlarging openings and placing greater emphasis on the lower grille.

      2. Side View

        1. The roof line and the character line that follows the shoulder area create a dynamic wedge shape. This is complemented by a sharply defined underbody and rear to achieve an uncluttered design with a sense of dynamism. (*a)

        2. The rear of the cabin has been raised up and tapers to a wedge shape towards the front, creating a design that appears to be moving forward even when the vehicle is stopped. (*b)

        3. The undulating door cross-section and chrome-accented rocker panel molding create an uncluttered yet strongly defined appearance. (*c)

      3. Rear View

        1. An impressive stance is formed by the solid shape of the trapezoid bumper seamlessly flowing inline with the outer edges of the tires. (*a)

        2. Subtle curves carved from solid masses create a unique appearance. (*b)

        3. The edge of the trunk has been given a spoiler-like shape that shows how the shape of the body flows smoothly towards the rear. (*c)

        4. A rear spoiler has been adopted that, even more than standard model, shows how the shape of the body flows smoothly toward the rear. (*d)
