  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Audio Head Unit Operates the respective functions in accordance with the signals from the switches or voice commands.
    Microphone Assembly Transmits the voice input signal to the audio head unit.
    Steering Pad Switch Transmits the operation signals from the switches to the audio head unit.
    Television Display Assembly*
    • Displays DVD output images, video CD output images, navigation screen, video output images and radio (AM/FM) operation screen.

    • Receives signals from the remote control.

    Remote Controller Outputs various control signals for the rear seat entertainment system to the television display assembly* in the form of infrared signals.
    Multi-media Interface ECU Transmits signals from the stereo jack adapter assembly to the multi display assembly.
    Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly Transmits information about the portable audio player (USB type) connected to the USB port to the multi-media interface ECU.

    1. Bluetooth Audio System

      1. The functions of the Bluetooth audio system that can be used vary with the version of the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) supported by the Bluetooth audio player that is being used.

        Set Bluetooth Audio Play Registering Bluetooth Audio Player In order to use the Bluetooth audio system , it is necessary to register a Bluetooth audio player in the audio head unit. Once a Bluetooth audio player is registered, the Bluetooth audio system becomes available automatically. The user can register up to 2 Bluetooth audio players.
        Deleting Bluetooth Audio Player The user can delete a Bluetooth audio player.
        Connecting Bluetooth Audio Player The user can select whether to connect to the Bluetooth audio player automatically or manually. If the Bluetooth audio player has been registered and automatic connection is enabled, the Bluetooth audio player will be connected automatically.
        Change Settings of Bluetooth Audio Selecting Bluetooth Audio Player If the user has registered a second Bluetooth audio player, either one can be selected for connection.
        Displaying Bluetooth Audio Player The user can view the information of the Bluetooth audio player on the system.
        Changing Connection Method The user can select the connection method. With this function, the user determines whether to make a connection from the audio head unit to the Bluetooth audio player or from the Bluetooth audio player to the audio head unit.
        Displaying Bluetooth Audio Setting The user can see the Bluetooth audio information settings on the system.
        Changing Device Name or Passcode The user can change a device name or a passcode.
        Initializing Bluetooth Audio Settings The user can initialize the settings.
    2. Bluetooth Hands-free System

      1. The Bluetooth hands-free system has the following functions:

        Call with Bluetooth Phone Call with Bluetooth Phone By Dial The user can call by inputting a telephone number.
        By Phonebook The user can call by using the phonebook data that has been transferred from the user's Bluetooth phone.
        By Call History Dialed Number The user can call by selecting a previously dialed number. The system remembers up to 5 (*1) or 10 (*2) dialed numbers. If more than 5 (*1) or 10 (*2) numbers have been dialed, the oldest number will no longer be remembered.
        Received Call The user can call by selecting the telephone number of a received call. When a call is received, the system will remember the last 5 (*1) or 10 (*2) numbers. If more than 5 (*1) or 10 (*2) calls have been received, the oldest number will no longer be remembered.
        Missed Call The user can call by selecting the telephone number of a missed call. The system remembers up to 10 missed call numbers. If more than 10 calls have been missed, the oldest number will no longer be remembered. - -
        All Call History The user can call by selecting the telephone number from all call history. However, the user can only use the last 5 numbers while driving. - -
        By Speed Dial The user can call by using registered telephone numbers selected from the phonebook, dialed numbers and received calls.
        By Voice Recognition Dialing by Name The user can call by giving a voice tag and dialing a registered phone number.
        Dialing by Phone Number The user can call by giving a desired number and dialing. - -
        Dialing by Call History The user can call by giving a number of call histories and dialing a registered phone number. - -
        By Point Of Interest (POI) Call The user can call by operating the off-hook button when a phone number and an off-hook button are displayed on the screen of the navigation system. -
        Receive with Bluetooth Phone When a call is received, the receive screen is displayed with a ring tone.
        Talk on Bluetooth Phone While the user is talking on the phone, the talking screen is displayed.

        Interrupt call:

        While talking on the phone, this screen is displayed if the call is interrupted by a third party. At this time, the user can push the off-hook switch to start talking with the other party or push the on-hook switch to refuse the call.

        • Some phones may release all calls.

        • If a Bluetooth phone does not support interrupt call and Hands-Free Profile (HFP) version 1.5, this function is not available.

        Tone sending: The user can send a tone to operate an answering machine or use a telephone service such as in a bank. -
        Change Setting of Bluetooth Phone Registering Speed Dial The user can register the desired telephone number from the phonebook, dialed numbers or received calls.

        Automatic volume setting for high speed:

        • When the speed is 80 km/h (50 mph) or more, the volume automatically increases.*1

        • The user can set the volume one step up when the speed is 80 km/h (50 mph) or more.*2, 3

        Setting Screen Receiving call display: The user can select the method of the receiving call display. -
        Bluetooth connection status at start up: When the user turns the ignition switch (engine switch*4) to ACC or ON and the Bluetooth is automatically connected, the connection check is displayed. -

        • The user can register a phone number in "TEL1" and "TEL2" separately. Up to 2 numbers per phonebook entry can be registered.*2

        • The user can register a phone number in "Phone#1", "Phone#2" and "Phone#3" separately. Up to 3 numbers per phonebook entry can be registered.*3

        Set Bluetooth Phone Enter Bluetooth Phone In order to use the hands-free function of a Bluetooth phone, it is necessary to register it in the audio head unit. Once a phone is registered, the hands-free function becomes available automatically.
        Selecting Bluetooth Phone

        When 2 or more registered Bluetooth phones are in the cabin, it is necessary to select which phone to use to prevent the lines from being crossed. Only the selected phone is available for use as a hands-free phone.

        • The phone registered last is automatically selected.*1, 2

        • This system will try to connect sequentially to the Bluetooth phones, starting with the one that was used most recently. Then, it connects to the first Bluetooth phone that is available.*3

    3. Rear Seat Entertainment System

      1. The rear seat entertainment system has the following functions:

        Function Outline
        Power Open and Close Automatically opens or closes the television display when the TILT button on the remote controller is pressed or the rear seat entertainment system is turned on or off.
        Auto Close Automatically closes the television display of the rear seat entertainment system when the engine switch is turned from on(IG) to off while AUTO CLOSE is selected from the picture quality adjustment screen, and automatically opens the television display when the engine switch is turned on (IG).
        Rear Seat Independent Control
        • Allows the rear seat to play back DVD output images, video CD output images, video output and radio (AM/FM) independently from the front seat.

        • When the navigation screen is being displayed in the rear seat, the same screen will be displayed in the front and rear seats.

        Screen Size Switch Switches screen size between "Normal", "Wide1" and "Wide2" when the SIZE button on the remote controller is pressed.

  4. OPERATION

    1. Rear Seat Entertainment System

      1. The power open and close function operates as follows:

        • This function allows the television display assembly to be opened and closed while the engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG) by turning the rear seat entertainment system on or off after pressing the OPEN button on the remote controller or selecting "Rear" on the multi-display picture quality adjustment screen.

        • When the engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG) and the television display assembly is open, the angle of the television display assembly can be adjusted to 90°, 100°, 110° or 120° by pressing the TILT button on the remote controller.
