LIGHTING SYSTEM DETAILS

  1. FUNCTION

    1. The illuminated entry system has the following functions, with each function controlling different lights:

      Function Outline
      Interior Light Control Illuminates and extinguishes the map light, center console illumination light, No. 1 room light assembly, No. 2 room light assembly, engine switch illumination light*1 and key illumination light*2.
      Interior Foot Light and Door Illumination Light Control*3 Illuminates and extinguishes the interior foot light, door illumination light (door inside handle illumination light, door pocket illumination light and ornament illumination light).
      Side Step Light Control*3 Illuminates and extinguishes the side step light.
      Dimming Control*3 The brightness of the interior foot light and door illumination light can be controlled in 5 stages via the room light switch assembly.
      Battery Saving
      • Extinguishes each light*4 if no door is opened or closed for approx. 20 minutes after any door*5 is opened.

      • When the light switch is in the on position, the battery saving function of the map light, No. 1 room light assembly and No. 2 room light assembly does not operate.

      Customization The light illumination time (15 seconds) can be changed using the customization function. For details, refer to the corresponding Repair Manual for this model.

    2. Interior Light Control Function

      1. The interior light control function operates as follows:

        (1)
        • With ignition switch (engine switch*) off and all doors closed, any door is unlocked.

        • Ignition switch (engine switch*) is off.

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key enters any actuation area around the doors.*

        (2) Any door, back door or glass hatch is open.
        (3) All doors, back door and glass hatch are closed.
        (4)
        • More than 15 seconds have elapsed since the lights were turned on.

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • Ignition switch (engine switch*) is ON or ACC.

        • Key is outside of all actuation area around the doors.*

    3. Interior Foot Light and Door Illumination Light Control Function

      1. The interior foot light and door illumination light control function operate as follows:

        (1) With ignition switch (engine switch*1) off and all doors closed, any door is unlocked.
        (2)
        • Any door, back door or glass hatch is open.

        • With shift lever in P, ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned from off to ON.*2

        • With parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less, ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned from off to ON.*3

        • With Ignition switch (engine switch*1) is ACC or off, all doors are closed.

        • With all doors, back door and glass hatch closed, ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned from ON to off.

        • More than 15 seconds have elapsed since the lights were turned on.

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) off and all doors closed, all doors, back door and glass hatch are locked.

        (5) With ignition switch (engine switch*1) off and all doors locked, all doors are closed.

        • With shift lever in any position other than P, ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned from off to ON.*2

        • With parking brake not engaged or vehicle speed above 3 km/h (2 mph), ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned from off to ON.*3

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON, shift lever is moved any position other than P.*2

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON, parking brake not engaged or vehicle speed above 3 km/h (2 mph).*3

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON, parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less.*3

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON and shift lever in any position other than P, any door is open.*2

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON and parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less, any door is open.*3

    4. Side Step Light Control Function

      1. The side step light control function operates as follows:

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) off all doors closed, any door is unlocked.

        • With the ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON and the shift lever in P, the driver or front passenger manual door lock switch is operated to unlock.*2

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key enters any actuation area around the doors.*1

        • More than 15 seconds have elapsed in the side step light is turned on.

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • With ignition switch (engine switch*1) ON, shift lever is moved to a position other than P.*2

        • Ignition switch (engine switch*1) is turned to ON.*3

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key is outside of all actuation area around the doors.*1
