FUEL SYSTEM GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. A common-rail system is used in the fuel injection system.

    2. An HP3 type supply pump, which is compact and lightweight, is used.

    3. On the models compliant with EURO 5 emission regulations, piezo type injector assemblies are used.

    4. Except on the models compliant with EURO 5 emission regulations, solenoid type injector assemblies are used.

    5. An injector compensation value and a Quick Response (QR) code are printed on the injector to achieve high-precision control.

    6. On the 5-door models with a spare tire installed on the back door, a dual fuel tank is used.

    7. On the 5-door models with a spare tire installed on the under floor or 3-door models, a single fuel tank is used.

    8. On the 5-door models with single fuel tank, a multiplex layered plastic fuel tank is used.

    9. On the models with dual fuel tank, a multiplex layered main fuel tank is used.

    10. Except on the models for Europe, a fuel filter warning switch, which turns on or off when the internal vacuum of the filter increases, is provided in the fuel filter.

    11. On the models for Europe, a fuel heater is used.

    12. A fuel cooler made of aluminum is used.

    13. A quick connector is used to connect the fuel pipe with the fuel hose for excellent serviceability.

    14. On the models compliant with EURO 5 emission regulations, the exhaust fuel addition injector assembly is used for catalyst support control. The fuel outlet for the exhaust fuel addition injector assembly has been added to the supply pump. For details of the exhaust addition injector assembly, see the 1KD-FTV Emission Control section.
