OPERATING CONDITION
The remote engine starter system can be activated when all of the following conditions are met:
Shift lever is in P.
All doors are closed.
The engine hood is closed.
The remote engine starter system stops the engine if one of the following conditions is met:
If any door is manually unlocked via electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.
If any door is opened.
If the shift lever is moved to any position other than P.
If the engine hood is opened.
If the engine switch is pushed.
If the brake pedal is depressed.
If the security alarm is triggered.
OPERATION
Remote engine start function:
Push and release the lock switch.
The hazard warning lights flash once.
Push and release the lock switch again.
The hazard warning lights flash once again.
Push and hold the lock switch for 3 seconds.
The hazard warning lights flash once when the lock switch is first pressed. The hazard warning lights flash again at the end of the 3 seconds.
The engine starts and the hazard warning lights flash for 20 seconds.
Remote engine stop function:
There are 2 methods by which to shut off the vehicle engine remotely: Either push the unlock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly once or push and hold the lock switch for 2 seconds or more.
Method 1:
Push the unlock switch. The engine stops and the hazard warning lights flash twice.
Method 2:
Push and hold the lock switch for 2 seconds or more. The engine stops and the hazard warning lights flash once.
Tech Tips
Using method 1, vehicle will remain unlocked for 30 seconds. Then the vehicle automatically relocks if no doors are opened. If vehicle will not be in view for that time, or if there are other security concerns, it may be preferred to use method 2, which does not unlock the vehicle.
Using method 2, all doors will remain locked after the engine is shut off.
