BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The following brake control functions are provided: Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Traction Control (TR(A)C) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

    2. A VSC OFF switch is provided.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE

    1. The 2013 models have been modified from the 2012 models as shown below:

      1. The separate type yawrate sensor has been discontinued.

  3. PRECAUTION

    1. When the brake control system is activated, the brake pedal could shudder. This is a normal occurrence of the system in operation and should not be considered as a malfunction.

    2. The TR(A)C and VSC functions control brake hydraulic pressure and engine output to ensure vehicle stability. Therefore, operate the VSC OFF switch (disable the operation of the TR(A)C and VSC functions) only when it is necessary.

    3. The type of ignition switch used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.
