OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High strength steel is used to ensure safety and achieve a lightweight body.
Safety Features
In order to distribute impact force to the cabin structure and reduce floor displacement, reinforced panels and the placement of structures has been optimized.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistance performance is enhanced by extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by anti-corrosion treatments, which includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint, to easily corroded parts such as the doors and hood.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
Aerodynamics
Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.
MAJOR DIFFERENCE
The new models have been modified from the previous models as shown below:
The rocker panel reinforcements have been changed in order to absorb and disperse collision energy received from the front wheels.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Front View
The front of the vehicle has been designed with a three-dimensional composition that creates subliminal composition that creates subliminal connections between shapes to express dynamic movement.
A smooth flow from the top to bottom has been added the grille graphics. (*a)
Front corner sections have been boldly pulled in from the center. (*b)
The hood and fender surfaces also subliminally continue towards the rear to maximize the appearance of large forms. Strong flow from rear to front. (*c)
The front air intake creates an image of airflow. (*d)
Width-enhancing wheel flares emphasize the tires. (*e)
Rear View
The rear of the vehicle has also been designed with a three-dimensional composition that creates subliminal connections between shapes to express dynamic movement.
Rear corner sections have been boldly pulled in from the center towards the tires and a braced stance has been adopted. (*a)
The rear spoiler creates an image of airflow. (*b)
Strong flow from front to rear. (*c)
Width-enhancing wheel flares emphasize the tires. (*d)
Side View
Lexus long cabin proportions have been carried over for an elegant, flowing center silhouette that makes maximum use of the overall vehicle length. (*a)
Elements such as the hood, fender, door and rocker panels have all been boldly designed based on large forms (dynamic range) for a sense of sportiness that does not rely on a wedge shape. (*b)
A surface construction that connects the bottom edge of the bumper to the rocker panels expresses a dynamic stance. (*c)
