Audio Head Unit
In consideration of the unity with the instrument panel, a uniquely sized audio head unit is provided.
A Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT LCD) is used for the multi-display of the HDD navigation system, enabling operation of the audio screen, Bluetooth hands-free screen, vehicle information screen, etc. using the remote touch.
Tech Tips
For details on the remote touch, refer to the navigation system/multi information system section. Click here
A sound library function that can compress music sound data using Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) compression technology and record the data to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is adopted.*
*: Models for China with HDD navigation system
Discs containing MPEG audio layer-3 (MP3) files and Windows Media Audio (WMA) files can be played.
Discs with the marks shown below can be played.
Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL)
The Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) function automatically adjusts the audio system volume level in order to compensate for increased vehicle noise (vehicle noise tends to increase as vehicle speed increases).
Vehicle speed signals are received from the combination meter assembly and used for ASL control.
USB Audio System
A USB port is provided that enables operation of a USB memory device, portable audio player (USB type), iPhone, iPod, iPod classic, iPod nano or iPod touch.

| Profile | Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Version 1.0 or higher | Required |
| Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Version 1.2 or higher | Recommended | |
| Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) Version 1.0 or higher | Required | |
| Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) Version 1.4 or higher | Recommended | |
Bluetooth Hands-free System
The Bluetooth hands-free system allows the user to make or receive a call without taking their hands off the steering wheel when the system is linked with a Bluetooth-compatible cellular phone.
| Specification / Profile | Version | |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth Specification | Version 1.1 or higher | Required |
| Version 2.1+EDR or higher | Recommended | |
| Profile | Hands Free Profile (HFP) Version 1.0 or higher | Required |
| Hands Free Profile (HFP) Version 1.5 or higher | Recommended | |
| Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN) Version 1.1 or higher* | Recommended | |
| Object Push Profile (OPP) Version 1.1 or higher | Recommended | |
| Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) Version 1.0 or higher | Recommended | |
| Message Access Profile (MAP) Ver.1.0 or higher* | Recommended | |
*: Models with HDD navigation system
Tech Tips
The operation of the interrupt call function of the Bluetooth hands-free system may vary with the Bluetooth phone or the telephone company that is used.
|
"Bluetooth" is a trademark owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. |
Some profiles described above may not be supported in the system depending on the audio head unit equipped.
If the specification of the connected Bluetooth phone is lower than the recommended or does not support the functions required, the available functions may be limited.
Registration and connection of a Bluetooth phone is not available when only Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN), Object Push Profile (OPP), Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) and MAP (Message Access Profile) are supported.
When a Bluetooth phone is connected to the multi-media module receiver assembly, e-mails and Short Message Service (SMS) messages received on the phone can be displayed or read out. (Messages may not be displayed depending on the message service or profile that the connected Bluetooth phone supports.)
Voice Recognition Search System
Due to the Grapheme to Phoneme (G2P) function of converting sounds into text, a song in the USB audio system can be searched for by saying an artist name, album name, title or playlist name.
Steering Pad Switch
Switches that the driver often uses are provided on the steering wheel for convenience.
Cooler Control Switch Assembly (Rear Seat Audio Control Panel)
A controller is provided on the rear seat center armrest assembly, enabling the rear seat occupants to adjust the volume and change the audio sources.

MAIN FEATURES
Sound Library
Approximately 3000 tracks with a 5-minute track length average can be recorded to the HDD from audio discs using AAC encoding at 128 kbps (a maximum of 9999 tracks can be recorded if tracks with an average track length of less than 5 minutes are recorded or the tracks are encoded at less than 128 kbps).
Tracks from a CD are recorded at 4 times normal play speed.
Album, artist and title names for recorded tracks can be input or edited freely. These names can help you search for a track easily.
