BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The following brake control functions are provided: Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Traction Control (TRC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

    2. An emergency brake signal is used. This signal is provided to indicate that strong braking is being performed by the driver.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE

    1. This manual has been modified from the previous manual as shown below:

      1. RHD models have been added.

      2. An 8-speaker surround sound system has been added.

  3. PRECAUTION

    1. When the brake control system is activated, the brake pedal may shudder. This is a normal occurrence of the system in operation and should not be considered a malfunction.

    2. The TRC and VSC functions control brake hydraulic pressure and engine output to ensure vehicle stability. Therefore, operate the VSC OFF switch (stop the operation of the TRC and VSC functions) only when it is necessary.

  4. MAIN FEATURES

    1. VSC is a stability control system that integrates brake control (ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, TRC and VSC) and Electric Power Steering (EPS).

    2. Using VSC, the brake control system and the EPS operate in a coordinated manner.
