MEMORY SYSTEM


  1. DESCRIPTION


    1. Memory System


      1. The memory system is provided as standard equipment.

      2. This system can store 3 positions for the driver seat, outer rear view mirror assembly, and steering column assembly respectively.

      3. The position control ECU and switch stores seat slide, front vertical, lifter (rear vertical), and reclining positions in its memory.

      4. The outer mirror control ECU stores the outer rear view mirror assembly position in its memory.

      5. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU stores the tilt and telescopic position in its memory.

      6. The position control ECU and switch outputs a signal to each ECU to reproduce the stored settings.

      7. A memory call function, which utilizes the key IDs of the transmitter, is used to memorize and retrieve the optimal driving positions for a person possessing the key.

      8. The memory and recall conditions of this system are as follows.

        Function Condition Operation Action
        Memory Engine switch is on (IG). Switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed while the "SET" button is pressed.

        • Memorizes the seat position when switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed.

        • When the memory setting is completed, the buzzer will sound for 0.5 seconds.
        Switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed within 3 seconds after the "SET" button is pressed.
        Recall

        • Engine switch is on (IG).

        • Park (P) selected

        • Memory switch is off.

        • Seat position is memorized.

        		 Switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed. Recalls the seat position that was memorized in the driver seat ECU.

        • Engine switch is off.

        • Memory switch is off.

        • Seat position is memorized.

        • Driver door is opened.

        		 Switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed within 180 seconds after engine switch is turned off and driver door is opened.

        • Engine switch is off.

        • Memory switch is off.

        • Seat position is memorized.

        • Open driver door is closed.

        		 Switch 1, 2 or 3 is pressed within 60 seconds after engine switch is turned off and the open driver door is closed.
        Memory Call

        • A key ID is registered to switch 1, 2 or 3.

        • Engine switch is off.

        • Seat belt is not in use.

        • Inside of the outside door handle is touched or the key unlock button is pushed, and then the driver door is opened.

        		 The seat automatically moves rearward up to 35 mm (1.38 in.)* from the memorized seat position.

        • Engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • Seat belt is in use.

        		 The seat automatically returns to the memorized seat position.

        • Engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • Seat belt is in use.

        		 The seat automatically returns to the original seat position.

        *: Seat movement distance can be changed using the customized body electronics system. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

    2. Automatic Away and Automatic Return Function


      1. Automatic away and automatic return functions are used for the driver seat.

      2. The automatic away function causes the driver seat to slide backward when the driver exits the vehicle.

      3. The automatic return function causes the driver seat to slide to the position it was in prior to the operation of the automatic away function when the driver begins driving.

        Automatic Away

        The automatic away function will operate when all of the following conditions are met:


        • Shift lever is in P.

        • Engine switch is off.

        • Driver seat belt buckle switch is off.

        The automatic away function will stop when any of the following conditions are met:


        • Shift lever is not in P.

        • Power seat switch for driver seat control has been operated (operation in response to switches).

        • Seat memory switch has been operated (operation of the memory system recall function).

        The automatic return function will not operate if the automatic away function has been stopped under the above conditions.
        Automatic Return

        The automatic return function will operate when any of the following conditions are met:


        • Engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • Driver seat belt is in use.

        The automatic return function will stop when any of the following conditions are met:


        • Vehicle speed reaches 4 km/h (2 mph) or more.

        • Power seat switch for driver seat control has been operated (operation in response to switches).

        • Seat memory switch has been operated (operation of the memory system recall function).
        FUNCTION
        Function Outline
        Automatic Away* This function automatically slides the seat rearward, making it easier to exit the vehicle. (The default setting is 35 mm (1.4 inch). Slide capacity can be set to off, 35 mm (1.4 inch) or 50 mm (2 inch) via the customize function. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.)
        Automatic Return Before starting the vehicle, this function automatically returns the seat to the position it was in prior to the operation of the automatic away function.

        *: If the operating conditions of the automatic away function are met when the recall function of the memory system is operated, all controls except the seat slide will move to the memory position, and the driver seat will slide backward a certain amount from the memory position.
