SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM

  1. General

    1. With the airbag for side collisions, if the side airbag sensor detects an impact, the airbag sensor assembly causes the front seat side airbags, rear seat side airbags and curtain shield airbags to be deployed simultaneously.

    2. With the airbag for rear side collisions, if the rear airbag sensor detects an impact, the airbag sensor assembly causes the rear seat side airbags and curtain shield airbags to be deployed simultaneously.

    3. The airbag deployment during side/rear side collisions is shown in the tables below.

  4. SRS Front Seat Side Airbag and SRS Rear Seat Side Airbag

    1. SRS front seat side airbags are installed into the seat backs of the driver and front passenger seats. SRS rear seat side airbags are installed into the outer passenger seat backs of the rear No. 1 seat. Each SRS airbag is a one-piece design, consisting of an inflator, a bag, and a cover.

  5. SRS Curtain Shield Airbag

    1. SRS curtain shield airbags extend from the driver's and front passenger's front pillar to the rear pillar behind the rear No. 2 seat and help to reduce injuries to the occupants on the front seats, rear No. 1 seat and rear No. 2 seat.

  6. Front, Rear, and Rear Floor Side Airbag Sensors

    1. A deceleration sensor is enclosed in side airbag, rear side airbag, and rear floor side airbag sensor. Based on the change of acceleration of the sensor during a side or side rear collision, distortion is created in the sensor and converted into an electrical signal.
