THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION

    1. The theft deterrent system has the following function:

      Function Outline
Alarm When the theft deterrent system enters the alarm state, the warning items (interior lights, hazard warning lights, vehicle horn and security horn*1 and self-power siren*2) are operated for approximately 30 seconds.
Security Indicator When the state of the theft deterrent system enters the armed preparation or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobilizer indicator. It blinks when the engine immobilizer is in an engaged state.
      Self-power Siren
      • A self-power siren is mounted on the rear quarter inner panel.

      • During a normal operation, this siren sounds an alarm in accordance with the operation signal from the certification ECU. Because this siren has an internal battery, it can independently sound an alarm even if the vehicle's battery terminals are disconnected or if the wiring harnesses that are related to the system are cut.

      Forced Door Lock

The main body ECU transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are satisfied.

      • The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state.

      • Either of the front door is unlocked not by using the mechanical key. (Engine switch is OFF)

The function stops when one of the following conditions is met.

      • All doors are locked (lock function of door lock or key is operated).

      • The warning ends after approximately 30 seconds.

      • Either of the front door is unlocked using the key.
