General
A heated steering wheel system is provided depending on the model.
This system consists of a heater wire that is placed inside the steering wheel.
This system is activated by operating the steering heater switch and is controlled by the steering vibration and heater ECU.
The steering vibration and heater ECU uses the thermistor provided in the steering wheel to maintain the surface temperature of the steering wheel at approximately 37°C (99°F).
The steering vibration and heater ECU contains a timer function that automatically turns off the heated steering wheel system after approximately 30 minutes even if the driver does not turn off the steering heater switch.
When the steering vibration and heater ECU detects the following malfunctions, the indicator light of the steering heater switch blinks.
An open or short in the thermistor has continued for 2 seconds or more.
The steering heater switch has been kept pressed for 10 seconds or more.
