Construction
For the purpose of weight reduction, an aluminum housing rack is used, which has the bracket and cylinder integrated.
A variable gear ratio type steering rack is used. This steering rack changes the gear ratio gradually by changing the gear teeth form. The gear ratio is set larger around the steering center and smaller around the end position. And so, rack stroke around the end position is larger to reduce the steering operation while ensuring the moderate response around the steering center.
The rack guide structure has been optimized to improve the steering operation feeling.
