    2. The welcome light illumination system operates the clearance light, taillights and license plate lights in conjunction with the locking and unlocking of the doors, ensuring nighttime usability.

    3. The main body ECU controls this system.

  4. Function of Main Components

    Component Function
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Outputs the clearance lights illumination request signal to the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly according to the signals from each ECU and switch, and switches ON/OFF of the taillights and the license plate lights.
    Headlight Light Control ECU Sub-assembly Illuminates the clearance lights after receiving the clearance lights illumination request signal from the main body ECU.
    Automatic Light Control Sensor Detects the ambient light level and transmits them to the main body ECU.
    Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)

    • Receives the ignition signal and transmits it to the main body ECU.

    • Judges and certifies the ID code sent from the door control receiver.

    • Outputs the door lock/unlock request signal to the main body ECU.
    Door Control Receiver Receives the ID code from the door control receiver and transmits it to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
    Front Door Lock Assembly LH / RH

    • Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU and locks or unlocks this door.

    • Detects whether the door is liked or unlock and sends this information to the main body ECU.
    Rear Door Lock Assembly LH / RH Detects whether a door is locked or unlocked and transmits a signal to the main body ECU.
    Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU.
    Power Back Door ECU Outputs the opening/closing condition of the back door to the main body ECU.
    Back Door Lock Assembly Back Door Courtesy Light Switch Detects whether the back door is open or closed and sends this information to the power back door ECU*1 or main body ECU*2.

  5. Operation


    1. The welcome light illumination system operates as follows:

      Operation Condition

      When all of the following conditions are met, the clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights automatically turn on:


      • The engine switch is off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch assembly is in the AUTO position.

      • The automatic light control sensor detects that the surroundings are dark.

      • Any door has been unlocked by the wireless unlock function or entry unlock function.

      When either of the following conditions is met, the clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights automatically turn off:


      • Engine switch is IG.

      • The headlight dimmer switch assembly is in except for the AUTO position.

      • More than 15 seconds have elapsed in the light ON state (15 seconds duration).

      • The door is locked by the wireless lock function or entry lock function.
