3UR-FE Engine
The 3UR-FE engine is a 5.7-liter, 32-valve DOHC V8. This engine uses the Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS), Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i), and air injection control*. These control functions achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy, and clean emissions.

1VD-FTV Engine
The 1VD-FTV engine is newly provided. The 1VD-FTV Direct injection 4 stroke common-rail Diesel engine (D-4D) is V8 4.5 liter, 32-valve DOHC, turbocharged diesel engine with intercooler.This engine uses direct injection system and common-rail system to realize high performance, clean emission, low noise and low vibration.

Suspension
The coil spring type double-wishbone independent suspension is used for the front suspension, and the 4-link coil spring with lateral rod type suspension is used for the rear suspension.
A 4-wheel Active Height Control (4-wheel AHC) suspension and an Adaptive Variable Suspension(AVS) are used.
Steering
A rack and pinion type steering gear with an engine revolution sensing type power steering is used.
A variable gear ratio type steering rack is used.
A Variable Flow Control (VFC) power steering system is used.
A Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system, which variably controls the steering angle in accordance with the vehicle speed, is used.
The power tilt and power telescopic steering column with memory function is used.
The energy absorbing mechanism is used in the steering column.
Brake
The hydraulic brake booster in which the brake actuator, brake booster, master cylinder are integrated is used.
An electric parking brake system has been adopted.
The following brake control functions are provided: multi-terrain Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), brake assist, Active Traction Control (A-TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), trailer sway control, hill-start assist control and CRAWL with turn assist function.
In addition to the conventional ABS, a Multi-terrain ABS, which automatically calculates the optimum ABS control in accordance with the off-road terrain such as dirt, sand, or gravel, is newly provided. The braking feel in off-road situations has been enhanced.
The CRAWL with turn assist function is used. The CRAWL, a driving support system which aids the driver when the vehicle is driven on very bumpy or slippery roads, has been newly added. When the CRAWL is active, the engine output and the brake force are automatically regulated, thus enabling the vehicle to run at a constant speed. As a result, the driver is allowed to concentrate on maneuvering the steering wheel with less accelerator and brake pedal operation.
The multi-terrain select is used, thus aiming for an improvement of off-road driveability.
