MIRROR SYSTEM

  1. OPERATING CONDITION

    1. Mirror Heater Function

      1. The mirror heater system is activated when the power switch is on (IG) and the rear defogger switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly keeps the mirror heaters on for approximately 15 minutes. Also, under the specified conditions*, another 45 minutes (maximum) is added to the operation time.

*: Vehicle speed is 45 km/h (28 mph) or higher and the outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or lower.

    2. Foot Light Function

      1. This function operates when any of the following conditions are met:

        • The user approaches either front door, and transmitter (key) confirmation occurs.

        • The doors are unlocked using the wireless door unlock function.

    3. Automatic Glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) Dimming Function

      1. This function operates when both of the following conditions are met:

        • The AUTO switch of the inside rear view mirror is pushed to select AUTO mode (When the power switch is turned from off to on (IG), this system defaults to AUTO mode).

        • The inside rear view mirror detects a large difference in the brightness of the surroundings and the headlights of a following car.

    4. Automatic Retractable Function

      1. This function operates when both of the following conditions are met:

        • This function has been enabled using the retractable outer mirror switch.

        • The doors are locked or unlocked using the entry function, or the doors are locked or unlocked using the transmitter (key).

    5. Reverse-linked Function

      1. This function operates when all of the following conditions are met:

        • The power switch is turned on (IG).

        • Either the R or L position of the mirror select switch has been selected.

        • The shift lever is moved to R.

    6. Memory System (Mirror Surface Position Memory Function)

      1. This function operates when any of the following conditions are met:

        • The memory switch is operated with the power switch on (IG), shift lever in P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • The memory switch is operated within approximately 180 seconds after opening the driver side door with the power switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • The memory switch is operated within approximately 60 seconds after closing the driver side door with the power switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • With the power switch off, the driver door closed and the key ID registration of the memory call function complete, the doors are unlocked using the smart entry and start function or wireless door unlock function and then the driver door is opened.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. The outer rear view mirrors have the following functions:

      Function Outline
Electric Remote Mirrors Remote Control Function The adjustment axis of the mirror surface of the electric remote mirrors can be controlled by using the outer mirror switch assembly.
      Manual Retractable Function
      • This function retracts and returns the outer rear view mirrors when the retraction/restoration switch (outer mirror switch assembly) is operated.*1

      • This function retracts and returns the outer rear view mirrors when the retractable outer mirror switch is operated.*2

Automatic Retractable Function*2 This function automatically synchronizes retracting and returning the outside rear view mirrors with locking and unlocking the doors using the entry lock/unlock function and wireless door lock/unlock function.
Reverse-linked Function*2 This function tilts the mirror surface downward to improve visibility when reversing.
      Mirror Heater Function
      • The mirror heaters use a heater element in both outer rear view mirrors to help defog them.

      • The mirror heaters are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

Foot Light Function This function illuminates the area around the doors in conjunction with the illuminated entry system operation.
Automatic Glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) Dimming Function During nighttime driving, if a large difference in intensity exists between the surrounding light and the light reflected off the inside rear view mirror from the headlights of a following car, the automatic glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) mirror automatically reduces the reflection rate of the inside or outside rear view mirrors and thus dampens the glare from the mirror.
Memory System*2 The memory system can store the driver seat, outer rear view mirror positions and tilt & telescopic steering positions. Up to 3 memory positions can be stored in the system memory and recalled.
