OUTLINE
A manual tilt and telescopic mechanism and a power tilt and telescopic system are available.
The manual tilt and telescopic mechanism allows adjustment of the steering wheel position in the vertical and longitudinal directions via the operation of a lever. This provides a comfortable driving position for the driver.
The power tilt and telescopic system consists of the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU, tilt and telescopic switch, tilt motor, and telescopic motor.
A memory function is available for the power tilt and telescopic system. This function operates in unison with the driver seat and the outside rearview mirrors.
An energy absorbing mechanism is used to help reduce the impact to the driver in the event of a collision.
The steering shake damper is mounted in the steering wheel to reduce vibration in the steering mechanism.
MAJOR DIFFERENCE
The new models have been modified from the previous models as shown below:
RHD models with the power tilt and telescopic system and RHD models with the manual tilt and telescopic mechanism have been added.
