BODY STRUCTURE GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Light Weight and Highly Rigid Body

      1. High-strength sheet steel and ultra high-strength sheet steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.

    2. Safety Features

      1. The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high-performance occupant protection.

    3. Rust-resistant Body

      1. Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to the easily corroded parts such as the hood and fender.

    4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

      1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

    5. Aerodynamics

      1. Various types of airflow routing parts that control airflow are provided under the floor, and an undercover is provided to make the under-floor area flat in order to ensure excellent aerodynamic performance.

    6. Parts with Low Repair Cost

      1. In minor collisions in which no damage is inflicted to the headlight or bumper reinforcement, repair cost is lowered by minimizing the number of parts that require replacement in order to be reused.

  2. MAIN FEATURES

    1. Exterior Design (Front View)

      1. The front design integrates a solid center that warps around from the base of the front pillar towards the Toyota emblem, with a fender design rooted to the center of the wheels to emphasize the vehicle's powerful and progressive nature.

    2. Exterior Design (Rear View)

      1. The rear view expresses a powerful stance with strong vertical character lines that run from the combination lamps to the bumpers (*a) and a rear 3-dimensional trapezoid-shaped lower bumper section (*b).

    3. Exterior Design (Side View)

      1. The side view features a dual ZONE concept dividing ZONE I, which centers on the front section and cabin space, and ZONE II, which centers on the rear cargo space and chassis, with body side character lines, introducing ZONE concept.

      2. The side design expresses a compact feeling combined with an aggressive nature through a wedged silhouette that captures the vehicle's axis with front and rear end peaks (*a) and with character lines that emphasize the front wheels while running off to the rear (*b).
