  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS


    1. The rear defogger system consists of the following parts:

      Component Function
      Rear Window Defogger Switch Inputs the rear window defogger wire operation signal into the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
      Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly* Operates and controls the rear defogger system in accordance with the signals from the rear defogger switch.
      Rear Window Defogger Wire Applies electrical current to a defogger wire installed in back door glass to remove fogging from back door glass.

  2. OPERATION


    1. Rear Window Defogger System (Models with Automatic Air Conditioning)


      1. When the ignition switch (engine switch*) is turned ON, and the rear window defogger switch is pushed, this system is activated to keep the rear defogger wire and mirror heaters on for approximately 15 minutes.


        • *: Models with entry and start system

      2. However, the operating time of the rear window defogger can be time of mirror heaters will not be extended:


        • Ambient temperature: -3°C (27°F) or less

        • Vehicle speed: 45 km/h (28 mph) or more
