1ZR-FAE and 2ZR-FAE Engines
The 1ZR-FAE and 2ZR-FAE engines are provided. These engines are equipped with a Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system, which continuously performs variable controls on the intake and exhaust valve timing, and a VALVEMATIC, which continuously performs variable controls on the amount of lift of the intake valve.
The VALVEMATIC, Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS), Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i) are provided, thus achieving improved engine performance, fuel economy, and clean emissions.

1WW Engine
The 1WW engine is an in-line 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter, 16-valve DOHC turbocharged diesel engine with intercooler.
This engine uses a direct injection system and common-rail system to achieve higher performance, clean emissions, low noise and low vibrations. In addition, this engine uses the NOx Storage Reduction (NSR) catalyst, Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) catalyst and DeNox catalyst to reduce exhaust emissions.

Suspension
A MacPherson strut type independent suspension is used for the front.
A torsion-beam type rigid axle suspension is used for the rear.
Brake
A ventilated disc brake is provided for the front brake.
A drum-in type solid disc brake is provided for the rear brake.
A duo-servo drum brake is provided for the parking brake.
A brake control system equipped with an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), brake assist, Traction Control (TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), cooperative control with Electric Power Steering (EPS) and hill-start assist control is provided.
Steering
A rack and pinion type steering gear assembly is used.
An Electric Power Steering (EPS) system is used.
A manual tilt and telescopic mechanism is used.
