OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High tensile strength steel is used to secure safety and achieve a lightweight body.
Safety Features
In order to distribute impact force to the cabin and reduce floor displacement, reinforced panels and the placement of the structure are optimized.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistance performance is enhanced by extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment which includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to easily corroded parts such as the doors and rocker panels.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppression materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
Aerodynamics
Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.
MAJOR DIFFERENCE
The new models have been modified from the previous models as shown below:
The design of the front headlights, front bumper cover, and upper and lower radiator grilles has been changed.
A special radiator grille and front bumper have been provided for F SPORT.
An aero stabilizing fin is provided to enhance aerodynamics.
Performance dampers (front and rear) have been adopted for F SPORT.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Front View
A wide stance forms the basis of the front design with a three-dimensional framework based on an inverted trapezoid spreading out from the center.
The grille has been three-dimensionally synchronized with the front composition to form a "spindle shape" that gives the vehicle a unique identity, that is both bold and elegant at once. (*a)
The headlight bottom line is lifted and the rectangular headlight graphic is sharp. (*b)
| *A | F SPORT | - | - |
The spindle grille consists of an inverted trapezoid flowing from the hood, and a three-dimensional trapezoid turned back at the peak of the bumper. (*c)
The upper and lower grilles now form a single, integrated shape. (*d)
The surface stretches outward broadly from the spindle grille, presenting a resolute, muscular posture. (*e)
F SPORT
A dynamic feeling is expressed by the solid shape that continues vertically from the hood. (*f)
The spindle grille is positioned on a solid shape to emphasize individuality. (*g)
At the bumper corners, the vertical peak is emphasized, and the carved surface facing the slit is a characteristic feature. (*h)
Rear View
The rear is characterized by a firmly planted powerful silhouette and stance. (*i)
The back glass, rear combination lenses and rear license garnish form a trapezoid, expressing an image of strength. (*j)
Side View
Viewed from the side, the center silhouette preserves the spacious image of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). (*k)
The side view is formed by a unique new framework with a clear axis of the shoulder and formation on the quarter pillar. (*l)
The side design takes on a new form, emphasizing the presence of the wheels. (*m)
The side window molding on the front pillars and quarter pillars creates an impression of depth, and the width change of the moulding at both ends forms the unique arrowhead design. (*n)
