POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DETAILS


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The power door lock control system has the following customizable functions:

      Function Outline Customizable*1
      One-motion Open (Driver and Front Passenger) When the door is locked, this function enables the door to be unlocked by merely pulling the inside handle lever of the door. Standard (Not Customizable)
      Key-linked Lock This function, which is linked with the key cylinder, can lock all the doors when a lock operation is performed. Standard (Not Customizable)
      2-step Unlock This function is provided to unlock the driver door when the key is turned in the key cylinder the first time, and to unlock the remaining doors when it is turned the second time. *4
      Manual Unlock Prohibition Function Performing a door lock operation will prohibit unlock operation by the door lock control switch (door mounted interior lock switch). *2
      Key Confinement Prevention When the key is present in the interior detection area and a door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked. Standard (Not Customizable)
      Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock*6

      When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • The engine switch is changed from off or on (ACC) to on (IG).

      • All doors are closed.

      • The shift lever is moved out of P.

      • Any one of the doors is in an unlocked state.

      Speed-sensitive Automatic Door Lock*6

      When the conditions listed below are met, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • Vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).

      • All doors are closed.

      • Any one of the doors is in an unlocked state.

      Shift-linked Automatic Door Unlock When the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved to P, all the doors will be automatically unlocked. *3
      Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock All doors are automatically unlocked when the driver door is opened within 43 seconds after the engine switch is changed from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off. *5
      Double Locking

      • The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened either from the inside or outside of the vehicle.

      • To lock the doors with this system, pressing the transmitter lock button, then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking system. However, as a backup, the driver door can be unlocked with a key.

      • The door outside handle touch sensor is touched 2 times within 5 seconds.

      CAUTION:

      Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If the double locking system is operated by accident, press the unlock button of the transmitter.

      • *1: The customizable functions can be turned on or off using the customized body electronics system. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

      • *2: Default setting is on.

      • *3: Default setting is off.

      • *4: Default setting is on (models for G.C.C. countries, Central and South America, and Australia). / Default setting is off (models for a country other than the described above).

      • *5: Default setting is on (models for Europe, Central and South America, and Australia) / Default setting is off (models for South Africa, G.C.C. countries and China)

      • *6: Except models for Europe, South Africa, South America, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, South Korea and G.C.C. countries

    2. When this system does not operate due to a discharged battery or malfunction, the back door can be opened by directly operating the open lever in the back door lock assembly.
