OUTLINE
An entry and start system that includes the following 2 functions has been provided to increase convenience.
The entry function enables the doors to be unlocked when the door outside handle is held while the user is carrying the key, and enables the doors to be locked when the lock sensor on the door outside handle is touched while the user is carrying the key.
The start function enables the hybrid control system to be started when the power switch is pressed while the user is depressing the brake pedal and carrying the Electrical key Transmitter Sub-assembly.
PRECAUTION
Entry Unlock
If the door outside handle is not touched properly or is held immediately after the user enters the exterior actuation area, the doors may not be unlocked. In such cases, the handle must be released and held again.
If the user is wearing gloves when they touch the door outside handle, the doors may not be unlocked.
Entry Lock
If the doors cannot be locked by touching the door lock sensor located on the upper portion of the door outside handle, they can be locked by simultaneously touching the door lock sensors located on the upper and lower portions of the door outside handle.
If the user is wearing gloves when they touch the door lock sensor, the doors may not be locked.
If the user washes the vehicle while carrying the key and water is sprayed onto the door outside handle, the doors may be locked and unlocked repeatedly. In such cases, the key must be placed at least 2 m (6.56 ft.) away from the vehicle.
If the vehicle is washed using a car washing machine and water is sprayed onto the door outside handle with the key in the cabin, the wireless door lock buzzer may sound. In such cases, the doors must be locked to stop the buzzer.
If ice, snow or mud is adhered to the surface of the door lock sensor, the sensor may not operate properly.
If fingernails come into contact with the door when the door lock sensor is touched, attention should be paid not to scratch the door or damage the fingernails.
