AIRBAG SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The Supplemental Restrain System (SRS) driver airbag (horn button assembly) and the SRS front passenger airbag (instrument panel passenger airbag without door assembly) are used as supplements to the seat belts to help to reduce the shocks to the head and chest of the driver and front passenger in the event of a front impact collision.

    2. The SRS driver knee airbag (lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly) is used as a supplement to the seat belt to restrain the lower body of the driver in the event of a front impact collision.*

    3. The SRS side airbags (front seat side airbag assembly LH/RH) are used in the event of a side impact collision to help to reduce risk of injury to the chest of the driver or front passenger.

    4. The SRS curtain shield airbags (curtain shield airbag assembly LH/RH) are used in the event of a side or side rear impact collision to help to reduce risk of injury to the head of the driver, front passenger and rear passengers.*

    5. An airbag cut off switch cylinder sub-assembly, with which the deployment of the instrument panel passenger airbag without door assembly can be turned on or off manually, has been provided.

    6. If any of the airbags have been deployed, the airbag sensor assembly transmits an airbag deployment signal to the power management control ECU.
