LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    1. The main components in the illuminated entry system have the following functions:

      Component Function
Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
Lock Position Switch Detects whether the doors are locked or unlocked and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
Door Control Receiver Receives the ID code from the transmitter and transmits it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).*1
Receives the ID code from the key and transmits it to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).*2
Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)*2
      • Judges the ID code from the door control receiver and sends the verification result to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

      • Receives the power switch on (IG) status from the power switch and transmits it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Turns on or off each light using signals from each switch and the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)*2.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. Illuminated Entry Control Function

      1. When any one of the following conditions is satisfied, the illuminated entry system turns on the map light assembly, power switch illumination*1 and interior foot light (No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly)*2:

        • Any door is opened.

        • Any door is unlocked.

        • A key enters any exterior actuation area of the door electrical key oscillator.*1

        • All doors are closed and the ignition switch is turned from ON (IG) to off.

      2. When any one of the following conditions is satisfied, these lights will fade out (within approximately 1 second):

        • The lights have remained on for approximately 15 seconds after all doors have been properly closed.

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • All doors are closed and the ignition switch is turned from off to ACC or ON (IG).

      3. Customize parameters can be configured by means of the customized body electronics system. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

*2: Models with interior foot light (No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly)

    2. Battery Saving Function

      1. A battery saving function is used to automatically turn off the map light assembly, power switch illumination *1 and interior foot light (No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly)*2 when the following condition occurs continuously for over 20 minutes:

        • The key is not in the ignition key cylinder*3 or the power switch is off*1 when any door is either ajar or open.

      2. The map light assembly illuminate only when the interior light switch is in the door position.

*1: Models with entry and start system

*2: Models with interior foot light (No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly)

*3: Models without entry and start system

    3. Interior Light Auto Cut Function

      1. After the ignition switch is turned off, this function automatically turns off the map light or the luggage compartment light (No. 1 Luggage Compartment Light Assembly) that may have been left on for approximately 20 minutes under either of the following conditions:

        • The map light is turned on via the switch.

        • The back door is opened and the luggage compartment light turns on.

      2. This function will be cancelled when any of the following actions are performed.

        • The ignition switch is turned ON or ACC.
