FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The main components in the power door lock control system have the following functions:
| Component | Function | |
|---|---|---|
| Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly | Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Door with Motor Lock Assembly | Door Lock Position Switch | Detects whether the doors are locked or unlocked and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). |
| Door Lock Motor | Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and locks or unlocks the doors. | |
| Key-linked Switch | Sends a lock or unlock request signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) by the mechanical key*1 or ignition key*2. | |
| Double Lock Motor*3 | Drives the motor by signals from the double lock door control relay assembly and activates or cancels the double locking system. | |
| Double Lock Position Switch*3 | Detects the operating conditions of the double lock motor and sends this information to the double lock door control relay assembly. | |
| Back Door Lock Assembly | Back Door Courtesy Light Switch | Detects whether the back door is open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). |
| Door Lock Motor | Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and releases the back door latch. | |
| Back Door Opener Switch Assembly | Sends back door opener switch signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly | Door Lock Switch | Sends manual lock and unlock request signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). |
| Double Lock Door Control Relay Assembly*3 | Drives the double lock motor by means of the signals from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), lock position switch and so on. | |
| Unlock Warning Switch Assembly*2 | Detects whether or not the ignition key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Combination Meter Assembly | Receives signals from the speed sensor and sends the vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) |
|
|
| Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)*1 | Sends the back door opener switch signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |

FUNCTION
The power door lock control system has the following functions:
| Function | Outline |
|---|---|
| Manual Lock and Unlock | This function can lock or unlock all doors by operation of the door lock switch. |
| Manual Unlock Prohibition | Performing the door lock operation with a door control transmitter *1 or an electrical key transmitter *2 will prohibit the doors from being unlocked by the door lock control switch. |
| Key-linked Lock and Unlock | This function, linked with the driver door key cylinder, can lock or unlock all the doors when a lock or unlock operation is effected. |
| Key Confinement Prevention | When the key is inserted in the ignition key*3 cylinder and the door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked. |
| Back Door Open | Pressing the back door opener switch when the back door is unlocked will open the back door. |
| Double Locking System*3 |
Note Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If locking the doors by accident, press the "unlock" button of the door control transmitter*1 or electrical key transmitter*2. |
