    1. For models with the entry and start system: The engine immobiliser system compares the ID code that is registered in the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. The system unsets if these ID codes match. Thus, the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and the power management control ECU communicate with each other enabling the hybrid control system to start.

      Tech Tips

      When replacing the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) or making a new electrical key transmitter sub-assembly, key's recognition code(s) must be registered. For details, refer to the corresponding Service Bulletin for this model.

    2. For models without the entry and start system: The engine immobiliser system compares the ID code that is registered in the transponder key ECU assembly with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the ignition key. The system unsets if these ID codes match. Thus, the transponder key ECU assembly and power management control ECU communicate with each other to enabling the hybrid control system to start.

      Tech Tips

      When replacing the transponder key ECU assembly or making a new ignition key, the key's recognition code(s) must be registered. For details, refer to the corresponding Service Bulletin for this model.
