    1. TOYOTA Hybrid System-II (THS-II)


      1. This system optimally performs cooperative control of the 1NZ-FXE engine, and Motor Generator No. 1 (MG1) and Motor Generator No. 2 (MG2) in the P510 hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly that provides excellent transmission performance. Furthermore, this system uses a high-output HV battery with a nominal voltage of DC 144 V, and a variable-voltage system in which a boost converter boosts the operating voltage of the system to a maximum voltage of DC 520 V.

    2. 1NZ-FXE Engine


      1. The 1NZ-FXE is an in-line 4-cylinder, 1.5-liters, 16-valve DOHC engine.

      2. This engine uses a high-expansion ratio Atkinson cycle, Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system, Electric Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system employing a highly efficient EGR cooler. In addition, use of an electric engine water pump assembly has eliminated the V-ribbed belt. Thus, improved engine performance, quietness, fuel economy and cleaner emissions have been achieved.
