OUTLINE
The L210 hybrid transmission (hybrid vehicle transmission assembly) is used on models with a 2AR-FSE engine. This hybrid transmission is a compact and lightweight electrical continuously variable transmission. Furthermore, the transmission has achieved a high level of environmental performance, including fuel economy, in addition to a high level of power performance.
Containing a Motor Generator 2 (MG2) for driving the vehicle and generating electrical power, and a Motor Generator 1 (MG1) for generating electrical power and starting the engine, this transmission uses a continuously variable transmission mechanism with a compound gear unit that achieves smooth and quiet operation.
Through the use of a compact, and lightweight oil pump and an optimized oil lubrication passage, excellent cooling and lubrication performance is achieved.
A transmission damper that consists of a coil spring designed to be easily compressed is used in order to absorb the torque fluctuation in the motive force of the engine.
A sequential shiftmatic system is used, enabling a shift range selection operation that feels like a manual transmission vehicle using the shift lever and shift paddle. In addition, even when driving with the shift lever in D, the shift paddle operation (shift range selection operation using the shift paddle) has been made available.
