OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High-strength steel, ultra high-tensile strength steel, hot-stamped steel and aluminum steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.
Safety Features
The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel and aluminum steel as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax and sealer to easily corroded parts such as the edge of the door lower portion, the door hinge, the fuel filler lid hinge and the hemmed portions of the hood panel.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
Aerodynamics
Optimization of the body shape and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Front View
A radical and dynamic solid structure, which gives an image of airflow, has been achieved on the periphery of the front.
The protruding front wheel flare and the bumper corners, which are trapezoidally-shaped when viewed from the front, express a feeling of stability. A shape which enables the air in front of the front tires to flow rearward smoothly without separating from the body has been achieved. In addition, a front overhang which has trimmed down sides produces a nimble and agile image.
In addition to the cylinder-shaped headlight surface, a rising peaked shape, which flows diagonally upward from the sides of the front bumper molding to the upper portion of the light, is used to express a deep and sharp look on the periphery of the headlight assembly.
On the periphery of the radiator grille sub-assembly, the headlight assembly is located on the upper-rear side in contrast to the hood panel with an end shape protruding diagonally forward and down, thus achieving a design focusing on a solid feel at a low position.
The inverted-trapezoidal radiator grille sub-assembly portion, which has inherited the uniqueness of LEXUS, is combined with the trapezoidal No. 1 lower radiator grille portion to create a spindle shape, thus expressing prominent unique characteristics reminiscent of LEXUS. The radiator grille portion and the front bumper opening portion are integrated while inheriting the identity of the front design expressed by LEXUS models from HS to CT, to evolve it into a simple and dynamic prospect. In addition, the radiator grille portion is synchronized with the neighboring design to express a unique identity, thus achieving both boldness and elegance.
"F SPORT" uses an exclusive front bumper cover (with a focus placed on aggressiveness by its wider trapezoidal shape to achieve a low and wide structure), a radiator grille sub-assembly and a No. 1 lower radiator grille which both have a mesh base in pursuit of a dynamic feel.

Rear View
The rear of the rear fender is twisted inward to achieve aerodynamic effects and to express a feeling of stability using the protruding rear wheel flare.
A wheel flare arch line design with an inside cut increases the visibility of the tires when viewed from behind, thus emphasizing the tread wideness.
The upper side line of the rear combination light assembly is a sharp and elegant flowing line which cuts diagonally across the outside luggage compartment door garnish subassembly, and which appears to be inhaled into the lower surface. Accordingly, the outer lens surface of the rear combination light assembly is shaped so as to appear to dive into the lower face of outside luggage compartment door garnish sub-assembly, using a deep design to express a uniquely intriguing feel.
The center rear bumper extension sub-assembly has an aerodynamic, streamlined fin shape. In addition, the structure is designed such that the exhaust pipe is not shown, which suggests reduced vehicle emissions and promotes a clean image.
A rear spoiler sub-assembly is used for "F SPORT" and "ECO grade".
In contrast to the normal type, the "F SPORT" center rear bumper extension sub-assembly has a gray metallic coating. In addition, the "F SPORT" has a chrome-plated rear bumper bar, which gives it a special image as an "F SPORT" hybrid.

Side View
A story is woven by the moderate and rapid contrast of the design which continues from the front toward the side and rear, thus embodying a design with captivating changes that can be appreciated at a glance.
Different types of solid (such as the fender portion, door shoulder portion, etc.) have been displaced and unified, with the gaps between them creating fascinating changes, thus expressing a uniquely intriguing LEXUS appearance in pursuit of a beauty that one never tires of looking at.
The skirt of the cabin has been extended to inherit the cabin's long proportions and to ensure that sufficient headspace is provided in the front and rear. In addition, the rear end of the luggage compartment room is located rearward to widen the space for luggage.
For the side view, the angle created by the interweaving of the line from the roof rear end to the luggage compartment room rear end with the horizontal line is optimally designed for aerodynamic performance.
The stable, horizontal posture expresses a classical dignity. In addition, to express a dynamic feel appropriate to a moving sedan, the front fender, door shoulder and rear fender have been arranged in a step formation, thus achieving an active design brought about by the rhythmical height differences.
The rear fender portion is given a lower design to emphasize a low-center-of-gravity feel, thus expressing the FR model's strong transmission of traction to the road surface.
The "F SPORT" emblem (front fender name plate) is provided on the front fender panel on "F SPORT".
