MIRROR SYSTEM DETAILS

  1. OPERATING CONDITION

    1. Automatic Retractable Function

      1. This function operates when both of the following conditions are met:

        • When the AUTO switch of the outer mirror switch assembly is on.

        • When the doors are locked or unlocked using the smart entry and start system.

    2. Mirror Heater Function

      1. The mirror heaters are activated when the power switch is turned on (IG), and the defogger switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly keeps the mirror heaters on for approximately 15 minutes.

      2. When the outside temperature is approximately -3°C (26.6°F) or below and the vehicle has been driven at approximately 45 km/h (28 mph) or more after the mirror heater system has been used continuously for approximately 15 minutes, the system operation time will be extended by a maximum of 45 minutes.

    3. Mirror Surface Position Memory Function (Memory System)

      1. This function operates when any of the following conditions are met:

        • When the seat memory switch is operated with the power switch turned on (IG), the shift lever moved to P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • When the seat memory switch is operated within approximately 60 seconds after closing the driver door with the power switch turned off, the shift lever moved to P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • When the seat memory switch is operated within approximately 180 seconds after opening the driver door with the power switch turned off, the shift lever moved to P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • With the power switch turned off, the driver door closed and the key ID registration of the memory call function complete, the doors are unlocked using the entry function or wireless door unlock function and then the driver door is opened.

    4. Reverse-linked Function

      1. This function operates when all of the following conditions are met:

        • The power switch is on (IG).

        • Either the R or L position of the mirror select switch has been selected.

        • The shift lever is moved to R.

    5. Foot Light Function

      1. This function operates when any of the following conditions are met:

        • When the user approaches either door, and a key confirmation occurs.

        • When the doors are unlocked using the wireless door unlock function.

    6. Automatic Glare-resistant (EC) Dimming Function

      1. This function operates when both of the following conditions are met:

        • When the AUTO switch of the inside rear view mirror is pushed to select AUTO mode (when the power switch is turned from off to on (IG), this system defaults to AUTO mode).

        • When the inside rear view mirror detects a large difference in brightness of the surroundings and also the headlights of a following vehicle.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. The outer rear view mirrors have the following functions:

      Function Outline
Electric Remote Mirror Remote Control Function The adjustment axis of the mirror surface of the electric remote mirrors can be controlled by using the outer mirror switch assembly.
Manual Retractable Function*1 The mirror fold switch can retract the outside rear view mirrors.
Automatic Retractable Function*2 This function automatically synchronizes the storing and returning of the outer rear view mirrors with the locking and unlocking of the doors using the entry lock/unlock function and wireless door lock/unlock function.
      Reverse-linked Function
      • This function tilts the mirror surface downward to improve visibility when reversing.

      • When the outer mirror switch assembly is operated after the mirror surface is tilted downward by the above operation, the desired position of the mirror surface while the reverse-linked function is in operation can be memorized. When the reverse-linked function is operated next time, the mirror surface will be moved to the memorized position.

      Mirror Heater Function*3
      • The mirror heaters use a heater element in both outer rear view mirror assemblies to help defog them.

      • The mirror heaters are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

Mirror Surface Position Memory Function (Memory System) This function can store the driver seat and outer rear view mirror positions. Up to 3 memory positions can be stored in the system memory and recalled.
Foot Light Function This function illuminates the area around the doors in conjunction with the illuminated entry system operation.
Automatic Glare-resistant (EC) Dimming Function*4 During nighttime driving, if a large difference in intensity exists between the surrounding light and the light reflected off the inside rear view mirror from the headlights behind, an automatic glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) mirror automatically reduces the reflection rate of the inside or outside rear view mirror assemblies and thus dampens the glare from the mirror.
