POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION

    1. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
Manual Lock and Unlock This function can lock or unlock all doors by operation of the door control switch.
Manual Unlock Prohibition When the door lock operation is conducted by the entry function or wireless door lock control function, this function prevents the doors from being unlocked by unlock operation via the door control switch.
Key Confine Prevention When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is inserted in the interior actuation area and the door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked.
Key-linked Lock This function, linked with the driver door key cylinder, can lock all the doors when a lock operation is effected.
Key-linked Unlock When the mechanical key is inserted into the door lock cylinder and is turned, all doors are unlocked.
Collision Door Lock Release If the airbag system has been deployed, and the main body ECU has detected the signal that is output by the center airbag sensor assembly, the main body ECU unlocks all the doors.
Key-linked Unlock (2-step Unlock) When the mechanical key is inserted into the door lock cylinder and is turned once, the driver door is unlocked. Then, when the mechanical key is turned again, all doors are unlocked.
      Speed Sensitive Automatic Door Lock*1

After the power switch has been turned to on with any of the doors unlocked, this function causes all doors to be automatically locked once the vehicle speed reaches approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more. After this function has operated, it will not operate again until any of the following conditions is met:

      • Vehicle speed has become 16 km/h (10 mph) or less.

      • Any of the doors are opened after the vehicle has stopped.

      • The power switch is turned off after the vehicle has stopped.

      Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock*2

When the conditions listed below are met, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked:

      • The power switch is changed from off or on (ACC) to on (IG).

      • All doors are closed.

      • The shift lever is moved to any position other than P.

      • Any of the doors are unlocked.

Shift-linked Automatic Door Unlock When the power switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved to P from any position other than P, all of the doors will be automatically unlocked.
Driver's Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock All doors are automatically unlocked when the driver door is opened within 43 seconds after the power switch is turned from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off.
      Double Locking System*3
      • The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened from either inside or outside of the vehicle.

      • Pressing the lock button on the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly once and then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking system. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver door can be unlocked with an electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

      Note

Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If the doors have been locked by accident, press the unlock button of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

Customization The on or off setting of some functions and settings can be performed using the Global TechStream (GTS) or multi display. In addition, some functions are not available depending on specification. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
