LEXUS Hybrid Drive with 2AR-FSE Engine
LEXUS Hybrid Drive optimally performs cooperative control of the 2AR-FSE engine, Motor Generator 1 (MG1) and Motor Generator 2 (MG2) in the L210 hybrid vehicle transmission assembly that provides excellent transmission performance. Furthermore, this system uses a high-output HV battery with a nominal voltage of DC 230.4 V, and a variable voltage system in which a boost converter boosts the operating voltage of the system to a maximum voltage of DC 650 V.

2GR-FXE Engine
The 2GR-FXE is a 3.5-liter, 24-valve DOHC V6 engine. This engine is a Direct injection 4-stroke gasoline engine Superior version (D-4S) which uses both direct injection and port injection systems. In addition, this engine uses a Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS), and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i). These control functions achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy, and clean emissions.
The 2GR-FXE engine, a high-expansion ratio engine that uses the Atkinson cycle, is adopted in order to enhance thermal efficiency and support improved fuel economy.

2AR-FSE engine
The 2AR-FSE engine is an in-line 4-cylinder, 2.5 liter, 16 valve DOHC engine.
This engine uses a high-expansion ratio Atkinson cycle, Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS), Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system* employing a highly efficient EGR cooler. Thus, improved engine performance, quietness, fuel economy, and cleaner emissions have been achieved.

L110 Hybrid Vehicle Transmission Assembly
The L110 hybrid vehicle transmission assembly contains Motor Generator 1 (MG1) and Motor Generator 2 (MG2).
L210 Hybrid Vehicle Transmission Assembly
The L210 hybrid vehicle transmission assembly contains Motor Generator 1 (MG1) and Motor Generator 2 (MG2).
Suspension
An Adaptive Variable Suspension system (AVS) is used.
A double-wishbone type suspension is used for the front.
A multi-link type suspension is used for the rear.
Brake Control System
The following brake control functions are provided: Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), brake assist, Traction Control (TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), steering cooperative control, hill-start assist control and brake hold function.
The Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) is used.
Front Brake
A ventilated disc brake is used.
A 2-piece disc rotor is used.
Rear Brake
A drum-in type ventilated disc brake is used.
Parking Brake
A duo servo inner drum type parking brake is used.
An electric parking brake system is used.
Steering
Power tilt, power telescopic and Electric Power Steering (EPS) systems are used.
A Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system is used.
A Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) system is used.
The LEXUS Dynamic Handling (LDH) system is used, which consists of the Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system which controls the turning angle of the front wheels and the Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) system which controls the turning angle of the rear wheels.
