OUTLINE
The L110F hybrid transmission (hybrid vehicle transmission assembly) is used. All-wheel drive has been achieved by combining the hybrid transmission with the transfer.
This hybrid transmission is an electrically controlled continuously variable transmission that achieves smooth motive force through the use of a Motor Generator 1 (MG1) for generating electrical power and starting the engine, a Motor Generator 2 (MG2) for driving the vehicle and regenerating electrical power, a 2-stage motor speed reduction planetary gear unit, and a power split planetary gear unit.
This transmission has been made compact and lightweight through the use of a 2-stage motor speed reduction planetary gear unit. Furthermore, the transmission has achieved environmental performance including fuel economy, while power performance has been achieved as well.
The 2-stage motor speed reduction planetary gear unit is a hydraulically controlled mechanism that automatically switches the reduction ratio of the MG2 rotational speed between the low-speed range and high-speed range. This enables the vehicle to achieve smooth acceleration performance from the start-off to the maximum speed range.
This transmission uses 2 oil pumps. One is a mechanical oil pump that is driven by the engine. The other is an electrical oil pump that supplies hydraulic pressure when the engine is stopped. These pumps ensure a reliable supply of hydraulic pressure.
A transmission damper that consists of a coil spring with low-twist characteristics is used in order to absorb the torque fluctuation in the motive force of the engine.
A sequential shiftmatic system is used and a shift paddle is provided on F SPORT, thus enabling a shift range selection operation that feels like a manual transmission vehicle using the shift paddle or shift lever. In addition, even when driving with the shift lever in D, the shift paddle operation (shift range selection operation using the shift paddle) has been made available on models with shift paddle.
