CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The cruise control system is controlled by the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    2. This system controls the motive forces of the Motor Generator No. 2 (MG2) and the engine to form an optimal combination, in order to maintain the set speed without requiring the driver to step on the accelerator pedal.

  2. PRECAUTION


    1. Observe the following precautions when using the cruise control system:


      1. Turn the ON/OFF button off when the cruise control system is not being used.

      2. Beware of a possible increase in vehicle speed when driving downhill (if the vehicle speed increases excessively, cancel the cruise control system and shift down to decelerate with the engine brake).

      3. If the cruise control main indicator light turns off while the cruise control system is on, first turn the cruise control system off and then turn the cruise control system back on. If the cruise control main indicator light turns off performing the above, there may be a malfunction in the system.

    2. Do not use the cruise control system under the following road and vehicle conditions:


      1. Road with heavy traffic

      2. Steep hills

      3. Road with sharp bends

      4. Winding road

      5. Frozen or snowy road

      6. Slippery road surface

      7. Towing trailer
